Matthew J. Eddy
Matthew J. Eddy has been practicing law for over 16 years and has concentrated in various areas of civil litigation. These areas include wrongful death, personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, toxic torts, insurance defense and general negligence. Most recently, he has prepared and successfully tried civil cases dealing with medical negligence and nursing home negligence as well as having defended licensees in professional licensure disciplinary proceedings.
Mr. Eddy also litigates cases on behalf of commercial general liability insurers and employee benefit plans involving claims for coverage, breach of contract, bad faith and contribution. His past accomplishments include successful representation of product manufacturers, retailers, and owners in product liability actions involving consumer products, automobiles, industrial machinery, medical devices, asbestos, welding rod fumes and herbicides.
In addition, Mr. Eddy has successfully represented commercial and residential property owners, general/subcontractors, trucking/moving and storage companies, and individuals in premises liability, construction, automobile, catastrophic injury and wrongful death actions.
Matt earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.
